Timothy Oliver is an award-winning landscape artist. His paintings have earned numerous juried exhibition, invitational, and plein air competition accolades. Additionally, he is an active member of Urban Sketchers Lubbock as well as being recognized with Signature Membership to Western Watercolor Society.

His research interests center around Brexit, London politics, European politics and international security. He has taught these subjects at LSE, UCL and NYU while also participating in numerous networks and conferences.

Early Life and Education

Tim Oliver has been an integral part of the healthcare industry for more than four decades. His involvement in over 90 healthcare facilities – from medical office buildings, ambulatory care centers and fitness centers, to demand and feasibility analyses for each new healthcare development project – spans four decades.

He was raised in a rural setting and maintains an affinity with nature, advocating for environmental sustainability with great enthusiasm in his work – receiving many awards and commendations during his career as proof of this accomplishment.

His wife, Rebecca Oliver, serves as Director of Student Services and Honors at A-State and she believes the next person to lead the band department will have big shoes to fill. Whoever takes over will need to prioritize maintaining community outreach within music programming.

Timothy Oliver provides services across a range of industries. His specialty lies in helping entrepreneurs establish, expand and sustain their companies while simultaneously protecting long-term interests through negotiations.

He also excels on concert and recital stages, making his concert debut under Sebastian Weigle at Frankfurt’s Alte Oper in 2008 as the Dying Swan in CARMINA BURANA (CARMINA BURANA). Fabio Luisi brought him back to Vienna’s Musikverein for Berlioz’s DAMNATION DE FAUST that same year to sing its title role.

Since 2015, he has performed at the Komische Oper every year since, making his debut with HK Gruber’s DIE GESCHICHTEN AUS DEM WIENERWALD before going on to roles in DIE MEISTERSINGER VON NURNBERG, Philip Glass’ SATYAGRAHA and CANDIDE.

Achievement and Honors

Tim has published extensively in leading management and business journals and presented at numerous leadership conferences around the globe. Additionally, he has appeared on television and radio as well as being an avid fan of baseball and video games.

He is equally at home on the concert stage, having made his concert debut at Frankfurt’s Alte Oper as CARMINA BURANA in 2008. Fabio Luisi conducts regularly, and he is known for interpreting Bach works such as Weihnachtsoratorium, Johannes Passion and Matthaus Passion with remarkable interpretation skills.

Oliver and his wife have three children – one son and two daughters. She stated they received overwhelming support from their community as well as keeping close ties to Arkansas State University.

Personal Life

Oliver is both a father and grandfather as well as an accomplished landscape painter, having won numerous exhibition and plein air painting awards. A signature member of both the National Watercolor Society and Western Federation of Watercolor Societies, Oliver also regularly teaches watercolor demos at West Texas Watercolor societies.

Tim has taught at universities in the US, UK and Europe. He holds a PhD in International Politics and has published academic papers and books related to UK foreign policy. Furthermore, Tim serves as research associate at LSE’s Centre for International Studies as well as being awarded Dahrendorf Fellow status for transatlantic relations.

He serves on the Board of Trustees at St. Louis Children’s Hospital and as Treasurer of the St. Louis AAA Blues. Additionally, he is married to an educator and has two children of his own.
