Thomas Rhett Wins CMT Awards For “Prayer”

During this year’s CMT Awards, Thomas Rhett was awarded with the prestigious Country Music Award for “Prayer”. The song is from his newest album, Center Point Road, and Rhett performed it live at the awards show. In addition, Carrie Underwood and Dan + Shay also performed.

During the CMT Artists of the Year, Carrie Underwood and Dan + Shay performed. The awards ceremony took place at Nashville’s Schermerhorn Symphony Center. This was the 10th annual CMT Artists of the Year event. These awards honor the top country artists of the year. The ceremony is a live event, and fans will get to see it on CMT.

Carrie Underwood performed two songs: “Two Black Cadillacs” and “Blown Away”. She also received the CMT Artist of the Year award. Her song “Two Black Cadillacs” also won the award for best country song.

Dan + Shay were also honored. They received the CMT Artist of the Year award, and their song “Tequila” won the award for best country song. They opened the night with their hit song, which received a standing ovation from the audience.

Thomas Rhett and Kane Brown also received the CMT Artist of the Year. The duo’s award was dedicated to their late drummer, Kenny Dixon.

Rhett’s fourth studio album, Center Point Road, is due out May 31. It’s named after a street in Hendersonville, Tennessee, where Rhett grew up. His father, Rhett Akins, wrote the album’s first single, “Look What God Gave Her.”

Center Point Road features a collaboration with Kellie Ballerini. It was also produced by Cleve Wilson, Julian Bunetta, Dann Huff, and Jesse Frasure.
