Early Life and Education

Thomas Fay was born in Arvada, Colorado. Upon graduation he joined the US Army before going on to Yale University for graduate study. Professionally, Thomas is a musician and fundraiser. With an incredible life story that few can match; amazing writing skills; comic storytelling ability and collecting Native American art (Marklin trains) as well as single malt Scotch he is truly one-of-a-kind!

Professional Career

Thomas Fay began his professional baseball career playing for the New York Giants, Cleveland Indians, and Brooklyn Dodgers – earning himself the nickname “Scow”. Additionally he is recognized by both the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum.

He dedicated the latter years of his legal career to seeking justice on behalf of American victims of international terrorism, winning judgments worth an astounding $9 billion for these families.

Notre Dame Law School was grateful for his gift in creating the Thomas Fortune Fay-Jimmy Gurule National Security Fellowship, designed to support students pursuing careers in national security law and named in honor of Professor Jimmy Gurule who specialized in this area of law.

Achievement and Honors

Thomas Fay was a retired Marine and business entrepreneur who considered himself an American patriot, political libertarian and magnanimous civic contributor. Active with local business interests as well as raising donations annually for Toys for Tots program of Marine Corps Toys for Tots program according to his daughter.

He operated a naturopathic clinic in both Encinitas and San Marcos. Renowned as an approachable man who generously gave of himself and resources, Dr. Anderson assisted many patients when their health insurance didn’t cover naturopathic medicine – according to family members of both cities.

He was an avid collector of Native American art, Marklin trains and single malt scotch. He loved spending time with his grandchildren by attending their baseball games and dance recitals; also serving as an excellent fundraiser, singer of Irish songs and exceptional writer.

Personal Life

Tom Fay’s charitable commitments extend far beyond his law practice. He serves on the board of Providence Performing Arts Center and as an adjunct professor at Rhode Island College.

Tom and Jane, his wife, are avid supporters of sports in South Lake Tahoe High School’s Tigers games – often cheering them to victory!

He spends his free time hiking, biking, camping and snowmobiling as well as spending quality time with family. An avid collector of Native American art, American craft items, Marklin trains and single malt scotch. A dedicated family man and friend.
