1. Oppenheimer
Christopher Nolan is going to give the audience the actual cinematic event of the year in July with his highly awaited movie, Oppenheimer. With Peaky Blinder’s famed Cillian Murphy playing the lead, Oppenheimer, audiences can expect a banger. The other star cast includes Emily Blunt, Robert Downey Jr., Matt Damon, Ramey Malek, Florence Pugh, etc.
The story is about a nuclear scientist named Robert Oppenheimer who is recruited by the US government to work on the big “Manhattan Project”. He eventually creates the atomic bomb and wins World War 2 for the Allies but causes huge destruction in Japan and loses himself too. Christopher Nolan has hinted that this biopic is going to be a game-changer for movies in the twenty-first century.
2. Barbie
Margot Robbie as Barbie and Ryan Gosling as Ken, there are going to be some amazing scenes on the screens when the Barbie movie is released in July. With Greta Gerwig on board, fans can expect a masterpiece on something close to the hearts of so many people. She isn’t only the director of the movie but also has co-written the script with her partner Noah Baumbach.
The trailer has been released and since then fans are going crazy over how close to the lore it is. The wardrobe, the vibes, the dialogues, and the overall aesthetic is everything that fans want to see in the Barbie movie. It seems like the movie is going to strike the perfect balance between gleeful and absurd fun and we can’t wait.
3. The Little Mermaid
Finally a Disney movie with a POC as the lead, The Little Mermaid’s release is not too far now. In May, people are going to see Hailey Bailey as the lead along with Jonah Hauer-King Daveed Diggs, Jacob Tremblay, Awkwafina, and Melissa McCarthy. All of us till now have watched the reactions of little girls when they saw the movie’s trailer and teared up on seeing a POC (finally) playing a Disney princess.
While the trailer hasn’t revealed much, we can see Hailey claiming the screen with her amazing presence and soulful singing of the song Part of Your World. It has put a smile even on the harshest of Disney critics and is expected to smash the box office on release.
4. Dune: Part Two
People who have watched the first part of Dune are holding their breaths to wait till November 2023 when Dune 2 will be released. Anticipated to be even better than the first part, Timothee Chalamet and Zendeya and Rebecca Ferguson are reprising their roles in the sci-fi adaptation of Frank Herbert’s classic.
Along with the main cast, new characters will be appearing with Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan and Austin Butler as Feyd-Rautha. While the source material from the books is a bit dense, here comes the expertise of the director, Denis Villeneuve, who has been successful in giving a visual masterpiece to the audience.
5. Mission: Impossible- Dead Reckoning, Part One
Watching Tom Cruise on the screen itself is the big moment of any year. Every time he does a stunt lands the heavy motorcycle, jumps from a helicopter, or drives his car as if he doesn’t care about his life, it’s a visual feast. This seventh installment of the famous spy-vs-spy movie is going to open with an amazing stunt from Cruise that is going to scream, Are You Not Entertained?
Moreover, this is the seventh movie, all the others have done surprisingly well and people seemed to be asking for more. And this story is going to be big as this is the first part of the Dead Reckoning saga.
