Steven Funk is an educator and activist. As the author of several publications dedicated to supporting traditionally underrepresented students such as those with gender expansive or trans*+ identities, he works to further their education.

He has served as Trust Officer with various banks, and currently works as Vice President at BankNorth Group in Rutland, Vermont. Additionally, he is affiliated with several local hospitals.

Early Life and Education

Steven Funk is an award-winning comedian known for his performances at big city theaters and cable TV networks nationwide. Additionally, he served in the United States Coast Guard.

Funk is currently the equipment manager for Randolph-Macon football team, having previously served as both student assistant and head coach of tight ends and H-backs. Additionally, he helped coach defensive scout teams while serving on offensive line as a freshman player.

Funk has achieved many personal and professional achievements throughout his life, including being a state champion wrestler, college scholarship recipient, earning a doctorate with Dean’s List honors from dental school, authoring multiple scientific publications as well as being honored with a Recurring Commitment Award from Clinton Global Initiative.

John also owns and operates a 1700’s Butternut farm in New Hampshire where he collaborated with the Audubon Society to assist osprey establish successful nest sites after 40 years of nest failure in this region. Additionally, John serves as chairperson of the Microcredit Summit’s Advisory Board.

Winwood co-founded Traffic in the late ’60s and ’70s as an avant-garde band that defied convention to explore multiple influences and styles. Their landmark albums like Mr. Fantasy, Low Spark of High Heeled Boys and John Barleycorn Must Die confirmed them as one of Britain’s premier groups of that era.

Personal Life

Steven is a member of Molalla Assembly of God Church and Oregon Royal Rangers, as well as enjoying being outside by hiking, hunting or doing home renovation projects.

Steve Funk is an accomplished tree farmer with a maple sugaring operation producing over 5000 buckets annually of syrup. Involved with the Audubon Society and having assisted two osprey in creating their nest on his New Hampshire farm.
