Stephen Steinbrook, 50, of the Unit Block of Whitemarsh Avenue in Erdenheim, was Sentenced to Probation and Sex Offender Counseling

Stephen Steinbrook, 50, from Erdenheim in Montgomery County pleaded guilty to harassment. As part of his punishment he will undergo probation and sex offender counseling.

Early Life and Education

Authorities claim a Springfield Township man, identified by The Mercury as Stephen Steinbrook of Erdenheim section was caught secretly taking pictures of teenage girls at swimming pools for sexual use without their knowledge and then using these photos for sexual gratification has been sentenced to probation and sexual offender counseling by Montgomery County Court Judge Wendy Rothstein. He will face further punishment due to this offense.

In her court statement, the victim stated she experienced trauma due to Steinbrook’s actions and was dissatisfied with how police and other members of her community treated her.

Steinbrook graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1996 and has served as coach at Lincoln North Star, Norfolk Catholic and Elmwood-Murdock high schools – leading these teams to state tournaments. Additionally, in 2007 Lee Steinbrook Tennis Academy was founded as a non-profit to train high schoolers new to tennis.

Professional Career

Steve Steinbrook is the Construction Project Manager of Bluebird Corporation in Philadelphia. He holds a Bachelor’s of Civil Engineering from Drexel University and has over two decades of experience managing construction projects. Steve lives with his wife and two daughters in Roxborough in Northwest Philly.

Steinbrook was arrested in July 2021 on charges that he secretly took photos and videos of a 15-year-old girl for sexual gratification, according to media reports. On Monday in Montgomery County court he plead guilty to one count of misdemeanor harassment and received probationary status for one year.

Achievement and Honors

Steinbrook serves on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and as one of Xavier University’s campus leaders in organizing students to organize community service efforts at various Xavier facilities. Additionally, he volunteers at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital as a volunteer while leading efforts for Make-A-Wish sponsorship through Make-A-Wish.

Nebraska Wesleyan men’s tennis program from 2019-2022 under his leadership. Although their season was cut short due to COVID-19 pandemic, they still managed to win two conference matches during his tenure.

Since 2023, he has served as Research Director at Public Citizen. He focuses on behavioral health, drug and medical device safety issues, conflicts of interest in medicine and health care settings, medical journals as well as wider health policy issues.

Personal Life

Steinbrook has long been involved in tennis. He spent 13 years as the Tennis Director at Lincoln Country Club, growing their program from 20 children to over 150 during that time. Additionally, he founded Northstar Tennis Academy and taught high school tennis in both Lincoln and Norfolk while serving as assistant men’s coach at Nebraska Wesleyan University.

He currently resides in Philadelphia with his wife and two daughters. In his free time, he enjoys hiking the Valley Green section of Fairmount Park as well as watching his daughters participate in sports activities.

In July 2021, he was arrested for secretly taking pictures and videos of a 15-year-old girl for sexual gratification, specifically focused on her buttocks. He pled guilty to harassment charges before Montgomery County Court Judge Wendy Rothstein granted him one year of probation.
