Steve Hurwitz is a former bodybuilder who maintains an active lifestyle by working out and taking vitamins. However, most of his time is now spent crawling under RVs that need inspection and repairs.

Steven Hurwitz has conducted research in numerous fields, such as forensic psycholinguistics, jury decision-making and terrorist perceptions. His findings have been presented at regional, national and international conferences; additionally he enjoys engaging students in conducting their own studies.
As managing director for South Florida office leasing, and previously as executive managing director at CREC before its merger with Colliers last year. His responsibilities as EMD included landlord and tenant representation services for large institutional clients such as Deutsche Bank, Zurich Insurance, KBS Realty Advisors and East End Properties.
At BlackRock, he served as both broker dealer CCO and senior legal counsel. In these roles he was responsible for compliance programs, written supervisory policies and procedures, training sessions, registration management processes, anti-money laundering program administration as well as interfacing with regulatory bodies such as SEC, FINRA and NFA.

Hurwitz has presented at numerous regional, national, and international conferences. Additionally, he enjoys engaging students in many of these projects by mentoring them to conduct original research of their own.
His domestic and international mediation and arbitration practice includes patent, technology and life sciences cases. He has served on both the American Arbitration Association’s Life Science Panels as well as those administered by foreign courts and arbitral organizations.
His clients include high-tech and biotech companies, research universities and medical schools as well as members of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. Known for his intelligence, tenacity balanced with an even-keeled demeanor and direct, business-minded approach; his litigation skills are regularly recognized both by adversaries and judges alike.
Steve Hurwitz took 30 years, but eventually broke free of the 9-to-5 grind and launched his own fitness business. An avid fitness enthusiast his entire life, by 47 he wanted full control of his time and income.
He found an opportunity that seemed tailor-made for him: dating a woman who owned a wildlife show that brought scorpions, tarantulas and snakes to birthday parties and school assemblies.
As COVID prohibited public events, things slowed down considerably for him; eventually he purchased an RV and started traveling full-time. Since then, he has given presentations at regional, national, and international conferences; also mentoring students to conduct their own research.
As a director, Hurwitz serves on the boards of several publicly-traded real estate investment trusts such as General Growth Properties Inc., DDR Corp, CubeSmart, Sonae Sierra Brasil SA and Boscovs Department Stores. Additionally, he founded and serves as CEO of Raider Hill Advisors LLC located in New York City as an advisory and investment firm; prior to this role at DDR Corp he held several executive capacities such as president and chief executive officer before founding Raider Hill Advisors; Hurwitz holds Series 24, 7, 63, 79 and 99 securities licenses while being an active trustee at Colgate University as an advisory board member of its Board of Trustees.
