Randy was an athletic boy from Martin who enjoyed participating in many sports throughout his childhood. Additionally, he developed an interest in cars and was part of a dirt track racing team, as well as watching and attending NASCAR races for years.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who valued time spent with his family. As an attentive papa and grandfather, he always ensured his kids had plenty to eat and had a safe home to call their own.
Randy was an inspiring teacher, always striving to help others reach their full potential. He had a deep commitment to community involvement as well, supporting numerous youth organizations and being an active participant in his church. Randy will be missed by all who knew him!

Randy Daves, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln graduate who was no doubt a star pupil, earned all the accolades bestowed upon him over time. He spearheaded DCPA’s iconic Swing Time Golf Tournament and had an extensive interest in CU football – not to mention being one of town’s most well-rounded men. A self-described media hound, Randy also amassed an impressive collection of memorabilia that spanned several decades.
Sports fan, true blue alumnus and successful philanthropist were just some of his many accomplishments. He loved astronomy and art as much as being devoted to his family. Of all his awards and honors, one that stood out most was being part of an exclusive class of students from across America who received scholarships.

Randy Daves was an avid sportsman throughout his life. He enjoyed playing golf, organizing men’s and ladies’ leagues, as well as coaching kids through various sports like little league baseball and legion softball.
Throughout his career, he served as a police officer and provided assistance to those in need. He often assisted stranded motorists, changed tires for the homeless, and rescued animals.
Dave was an enthusiastic traveler and golfer who loved to discover new places. He took his wife Dianne on memorable vacations such as Grand Marais, Disney World, Kennebunkport, NYC, Yellowstone National Park, Teton National Park and Glacier National Park.
