Early Life and Education

Early years in a child’s life are vitally important for their growth and development. During these years, their brain develops faster, setting the foundations for social skills, self-worth, and moral outlook.

A strong foundation is essential for children’s success in later life, as it affects both their physical and mental wellbeing.

Different theories have been put forward regarding early childhood education and how young children should be taught. Friedrich Froebel is known for his belief that play is the highest form of learning for young children, which many adhere to today.

Students enrolled in National’s BAECE program undergo field experiences that reinforce how play can be an effective learning tool. They also study the outcomes of observing and recording children’s play behaviors to gain insight into what motivates them.

Professional Career

Sakowski is well-known around Creighton University as the man with the “smokey” hat and unflappable attitude. For six seasons, he’s been an integral part of their pitching staff that has produced some stellar relief performances in the Big East.

One of the most intriguing aspects of his career has been how he’s evolved his throwing style as he’s grown. He used to throw with more of a submarine motion for some pitches, but now uses longer leg kicks, swiveling hips, and doing some quick pitches from time to time. This unique delivery has been instrumental in the Bluejays’ success this season.

John Sakowski has achieved many significant accomplishments throughout his life. He graduated from Brooklyn Tech High School and served in the United States Air Force. Additionally, he worked at New York Telephone Company and IBM.
