John Mazyck was born in 1957 in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He is a graduate of Woodberry Forest School and Vanderbilt University. He is the owner of The Frazer Lanier Company, a Montgomery-based investment banking firm. He is also a co-chair of Montgomery United (the transition committee for Mayor Steven Reed), Vice-chair of the Montgomery Committee of 100, and a board member of the Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce. Florence Loretta Mazyck Brewton, a native of Bonneau, was the daughter of Willie Edwin Mazyck and Gold Roosevelt Waring Mazyck. She was a devoted Christian and a loyal member of Jehovah Baptist Church. She passed away on October 16, 2022 at the age of 89 years. She is survived by her children, John and Frances Mazyck; grandchildren, John Jr. and Laura Mazyck; great-grandchildren, John III and William Mazyck; sister, Rosemary Ravenell; and brother, Robert Mazyck; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
