John Gilbertson, age 69, of Sunrise Beach, MO, died on February 5, 2017. He was surrounded by family. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 8th at 6:00 PM at the McGilley Antioch Chapel in Kearney, MO.

John was born in Kansas City, KS on December 17, 1947. He was a retired railroad worker for Burlington-Northern Railroad and was also a loyal Jayhawk fan.

He was a member of the River of Life Church in Devils Lake and a farmer and rancher. He was a devoted family man.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Inez Gilbertson; son John R. Beckstrand, Santa Rosa, CA; daughters Julie (Cynthia) Beckstrand, Warwick and daughter-in-law Cynthia Beckstrand; grandsons Jeremiah C. “Geronimo” White, Elisha (Chance) Miller; Justin, Jon, Sandra and JoAnna Beckstrand; great grandchildren Shayn “Carrots”, Tildyn “Troilus Pojke” and Hayden “Smiley” Miller; Calvin, Logan and Jacob Schantz and Emmalyn Berger; brother Melvin Beckstrand, Devils Lake and sister Gladys (Robert) Jacobson, Warwick; numerous nieces and nephews and their families.
