John dipaolo is an American artist who works primarily in abstract art. He was born in Brooklyn, New York and has been working since 1971.
A pioneer of abstraction, DiPaolo grew up in Brooklyn and moved to San Francisco for art school. He stayed away from the figurative art movements of his peers and pursued abstraction instead.

In addition to his art, he also takes time out of his busy schedule to donate funds to children with cleft palates through the Smile Train. He is very proud of this, but he says he does not want to make his name known for it.
