John Borota was an extraordinary individual, renowned for his knack for connecting with people. His visionary leadership skillset also proved invaluable as he spearheaded the expansion of Edward Jones’ business operations.
He died from a wrong-way crash on the highway near Plant City early Saturday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Early Life and Education
Early childhood education is an integral component of a child’s development. It helps create a secure bond between them and their caregivers, which is crucial for cognitive, social and emotional growth as well as preparing them to be successful in school.
The field of Early Childhood Education has seen remarkable progress over the last century. It now encompasses a vast array of programs, such as anganwadis, balwadis, nurseries, preschools, kindergartens and preparatory schools.
ECE programs are typically run by private businesses and organizations, though the government also plays an important role. Some state or federal initiatives, such as Head Start, offer free access to ECE programs for low income families.
Professional Career
John Borota rose to prominence as a goalkeeper for FK Partizan during their league-winning 1977-78 season. Additionally, he received national team callups under the coaching trio of Marko Valok, Stevan Vilotic and Gojko Zec during that period as well.
He joined Chelsea in March 1979 for a transfer fee of PS70,000 with the club on the brink of relegation. Unfortunately, his inconsistent performances often caused his manager to lose confidence in him.
On 25 October 1978, Borota made his international debut in a crucial qualifier away at Romania that Yugoslavia ultimately lost 3-2, thanks to Iosif Vigu’s lob effort and goals from Anghel Iordanescu and Laszlo Boloni. Unfortunately for Borota, it wouldn’t be one of his more memorable performances as he blundered away and allowed one goal.

John was a proud father, husband and entrepreneur. He also enjoyed cycling and was an enthusiastic motoring enthusiast – from racing cars to motorcycles. John belonged to several clubs and organizations such as the Taylor Optimists.
He made a name for himself on the business front, building an acclaimed computer manufacturing company called COMCO that has been running for almost two decades. A true entrepreneur with a flair for innovation and an acute understanding of technological advancements, he had an uncanny ability to stay ahead of the competition.
As a fitting tribute, we would like to honor his amazing accomplishments by naming his award-winning company COMCO Borota. He was truly a trailblazer and we are proud that he is part of our Borota family. We know that his legacy will continue to inspire many in years ahead.

John Borota enjoyed traveling with his family and loved meeting new people. He was an incredibly kind man who never met a stranger!
He was an inspirational mentor to many and took pride in his work. As a well-known personality within the community, his legacy lives on today.
His career with Edward Jones began in 1972, and during these 30 years he excelled at recruiting and building his firm from 225 financial advisors to 10,000.
On January 29th 2022, he passed away after a long battle with multiple myeloma. He was beloved as husband and father, an incredible mentor and friend, as well as an inspirational example of living a life in service of others.

He earned this wealth through his career as an estate developer and by working for numerous brands such as Wheaties, UGG, Movado and Smart Water.
