Gina currently teaches American Studies and Honors American Studies at Licking Heights High School in Blacklick, Ohio. She has been teaching for 16 years and holds a Bachelor of Arts from Otterbein College.
She is best-known for her roles as Josephine in NBC’s biographical drama miniseries The Temptations and Det. Irene Daniels in TNT police procedural series The Closer. Additionally, she made appearances as Dr. Bettina DeJesus on ER as well as High Maintenance, Manifest and Lapsis television shows.

She began her acting career by appearing in small supporting roles on shows like The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and Melrose Place before playing Dr. Diana Roth in recurring role on CBS crime drama Silk Stalkings between 1993-1994. Following that role she went on to portray Josephine on NBC two-part biographical drama miniseries The Temptations as well as appearing in films like 1995 erotic film Showgirls and 1997 comedy film Soul Food.
