Research has clearly established over decades that a child’s experiences from birth onward, even before birth, shape their learning capacity, behaviors and physical and mental health in the long run. By understanding how these events influence a child’s growth and development, parents, teachers, policymakers and others can appreciate why early childhood education is so crucial for all of our children.
