On June 2, 2020, City Hall hosted a ceremony to recognize officers and civilians for their accomplishments over the past year. Among those honored was Dylan McArthur, 20-year-old Fargo man who received the Civilian Citation for Distinguished Service for saving a woman from knife attack in her apartment.

He is one of three finalists for Fargo’s next police chief, alongside John Franklin and Stacy Kelly. Each has accepted an invitation to participate in public interviews on Aug. 20, with a news release from the City of Fargo noting their experiences and qualifications as “high caliber.” The candidates will be interviewed live by WMTV broadcasting or streaming them online.
