David Moy – Biography

Moy is an esteemed academic who has made significant advances in the fields of communication and citizenship. Her research examines how mediated and interpersonal communication affects public opinion, citizens’ social and political trust, as well as their participation in democratic institutions.

He began his managerial career at Preston North End in 1998 and led them to a remarkable campaign the following year, leading them to their first ever Division One promotion. Manager Phil Jagielka praised him then for “transforming the entire club from top to bottom”.

Early Life and Education

Moy was born in Canton, China and immigrated to the United States in 1931. He studied painting at Saint Paul School of Minneapolis before proceeding on to New York where he continued his education with Vaclav Vytlacil and Hans Hofmann.

He taught at many colleges and universities, heading the Seong Moy School of Painting and Graphics in Provincetown, Massachusetts during the summer months. In 1955 he earned a Guggenheim Fellowship and went on to become professor of art at City College of New York.

He served as director and past president of the Chinese American Cultural Society in Washington, D.C. He’s currently on the Board of Directors for Christianity Today International and belongs to Tau Kappa Epsilon International Fraternity where he holds several leadership positions.
