David is a doctor who studies brain tumors and strives to find a cure. Additionally, he raises funds for research into this condition while providing emotional support to families dealing with it.

Early Life and Education

David was born with severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID), an autoimmune disease that prevents the body from fighting off infections. To protect him from germs and infections, David spent most of his early life in a plastic isolator bubble which kept him safe until he could receive a bone marrow transplant at twelve years old.

His parents made sure he lived a full life, making sure he never missed out on any of the joys that any normal child experiences. Once old enough, he enjoyed playing with friends and watching Houston Oilers games on TV with them.

He had a deep-felt love of his family and was always there for them. Additionally, he advocated for children with disabilities by founding the David Vetter Foundation. A true outdoorsman at heart, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and boating with his wife and children.

Professional Career

David Hodgkins had worked tirelessly to reach the top of his corporate ladder. However, as his success increased, he began feeling like he had lost sight of who he truly was.

He decided to break away from his comfort zone and pursue a different direction. To that end, he founded Finance Career Launch – an online resource and podcast designed to assist young financial professionals in advancing their careers.

He serves as a mentor and coach for Finance Career Launch members, drawing upon his extensive business expertise to inspire them to build more meaningful lives and businesses.

Achievement and Honors

David Hodgkins was a master of many trades, working as a backhoe operator, truck driver, plumber and carpenter. He lived a life of giving and never missed an opportunity to help others out with a smile on his face.

Throughout his lifetime, he created many memories with family and friends. He was an amiable individual who never met a stranger – whether they were neighbors or coworkers.

He was an honorable Army Veteran, having served three years as a paratrooper and receiving several awards and decorations including the Purple Heart. Buried at Arlington National Cemetery alongside so many other brave fallen heroes, he will always remain a hero to those who came before him.

David was a strong, compassionate individual who deeply loved his family. He was an ardent supporter of year-round education, believing that the most effective way to educate children was through experience and love.

David enjoyed traveling the world and playing golf with friends. He also loved to discuss politics and current events.

He had a passion for collecting and collecting antiquities, often taking his family on trips to auctions.

After graduating college, David went on to work as a physician and researcher. He eventually joined the executive team at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and helped launch Integrated Research Centers. A proud Jew, David was passionate about finding cures for cancer.
