David Dwek is the founder and broker of Southeast Regional Realty Corp. He holds licenses in Florida, Alabama and Georgia as well as a Tennessee Affiliate Broker license.
Early Life and Education
Dwek’s childhood in Brooklyn was filled with obstacles. At a highly competitive private school, she achieved the top of her class and earned herself a place at the front row, seat 1.
Her teachers instilled the belief that she was intelligent and superior to others, while friends and teachers put pressure on her to perform well on state-wide chemistry tests; which she took seriously.
She credits her success to her growth mindset and ability to overcome setbacks. This attitude has enabled her to achieve in both academics and personal life alike.
Dr. Dweck is a psychologist who has studied people’s motivation and how their mindset shapes how they approach learning and challenges. Her studies have demonstrated that having a positive mindset can promote achievement and success; now, she’s dedicated to teaching students how to adopt this mentality.
David Dweck has had a thriving career in the real estate industry. He has purchased, sold and renovated homes while also providing private loans for investors. Additionally, David owns Southeast Regional Realty – his own brokerage.
He is a member of the National Association of Realtors, Florida Association of Realtors and President of BROWARD-MIAMI. His leadership in real estate industry and communities he serves has earned him respect among peers. In his spare time he enjoys reading books, attending events and programming to promote South Florida throughout the world.
Dweck holds multiple certifications and designations in property management, community association management, Graduate Realtor Institute Accredited Buyer’s Representative Military Relocation Professional e-PRO At Home with Diversity Broker Price Opinion Representative Short Sale/Foreclosure Specialist Senior Real Estate Specialist and Pricing Strategy Advisor. In addition, he volunteers his services with American Red Cross Hollywood Housing Authority and Civil Air Patrol.
Achievements and Honors
Dwek has earned himself the esteemed title of president emeritus at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (BGU). On Monday, BGU’s 48th Board of Governors Meeting honored him with its Lifetime Achievement Award. Dwek was honored with a gold star for his scientific achievements at BGU. As President, he has played an instrumental role in BGU’s remarkable turnaround and set the bar for higher education development throughout Israel. Dwek is a proud member of BGU’s Hall of Fame and an invaluable resource to students, staff and faculty alike. Among his many accomplishments, one that stands out is his role in founding the National Institute for Biotechnology in the Negev at BGU.
Dwek was raised in Brooklyn and attended P.S. 153 where he achieved great academic success. His parents’ guidance had taught him to be an excellent student and hard worker, qualities which he attributes to today.
He credited his parents for teaching him how to take risks and work hard in life. Later, he worked as a confidential informant in the investigation of public corruption and money laundering.
Dwek was renowned for his professional career and also an active philanthropist. He regularly donated money to organizations, such as the Weizmann Institute where he served on its board and chaired its European committee for many years. Additionally, Dwek helped launch both its endowment fund and venture capital fund with contributions.
David Dweck is a New York City-based entrepreneur and artist. He was raised in Bellmore, Long Island and studied architecture, communication and fine arts at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn.
After college, Dweck founded Michael Dweck & Co. (later renamed Dweck & Campbell) and won numerous industry awards before closing the firm in 2001 to focus on his art full time.
Dweck has an established art career in addition to his advertising firm. His works span sculpture, photography and film, with exhibitions at galleries around the world such as The Whitney Museum of American Art and Guggenheim in New York.
Dwek was convicted of bank fraud in 2006 and turned informant for the FBI. He helped law enforcement arrest several Orthodox Jewish rabbis and a man suspected of selling black-market kidneys, serving as one of New Jersey’s most important cooperators since U.S. Attorney Mark McCarren said.
