Early Life and Education

Scanlan was raised in Ave Maria after being born in Fort Myers and won state wrestling tournament championships at 160 and 171 pounds during high school wrestling season.

He was part of the Pixar team that developed Toy Story and Cars, as well as live-action films Brave and Inside Out. Together with Michele, they work under Caveat Productions on projects.

On July 15, Bishop Mark O. Auletta will ordain Sean Scanlan and Alejandro Giraldo Roldan for priestly ordination at Epiphany Cathedral in Venice. Scanlan’s family will also attend this celebration; he is one of eleven children!

Daniel is an experienced finance executive with more than 35 years of banking experience, having overseen cash management, payments clearing, trade finance and custody businesses across North America, Asia and Europe.

Daniel Scanlan is the author of The Hacker. For 27 years he worked as a prosecutor specializing in cybercrime, digital evidence, wiretaps, smuggling, money laundering and related areas; 15 of those years were dedicated specifically to cybercrime prosecutions and digital evidence issues (cybercrime). During that time he published Digital Evidence in Criminal Law; The Lawyer’s Guide to Forensic Sciences won him the Walter Owen Book Prize; his home is Vancouver Island where he enjoys ocean kayaking and hiking adventures.

Scanlan is the proud father of four sons and one daughter, as well as being part of an extended family in NYC. An avid sports fan, he follows both New York Knicks and Philadelphia Flyers (which is quite the feat given his city roots!). Presently he works on Kindred Healthcare/Med-Tech team which specializes in recruiting C-level and VP-level executives for Digital Health, Genomics/Personalized Medicine and Clinical Technology companies.
