Daniel Hearn has earned widespread acclaim for his mesmerizing voice and commanding stage presence, earning recognition from both Pittsburgh Opera Resident Artist Program and Santa Fe Opera Apprentice Artist Program alumni.

Hearn currently works at Halter as the Head of Intellectual Property, responsible for education and promotion of IP protection in multiple teams. He earned a Bachelor of Engineering with Honors from University of Canterbury as well as patent attorney certifications in New Zealand and Australia.

Early Life and Education

Daniel Hearn is an educator and coach at Bradley Central High School in Chattanooga, teaching history while coaching football and track. Additionally, Hearn has taught at Hixson High School and Lakeview Academy. Daniel loves teaching students with passion; this passion shows through in his enthusiasm when working with them.

Hearn is also an accomplished vocalist. He has performed with both the Utah Symphony and DePaul Community Chorus, winning many awards and accolades in competitions along the way. Additionally, Hearn has recorded several CDs.

Hearn has several family members. He is the father of Ashley Alatorre, Austin Wann, and Kristen Kendrick; brother to Chad Hearn; step-brother to Mandy Hearn and stepsibling of Mandy Hearn; stepfather of Mandy Hearn’s children; has numerous relatives in Iowa and Illinois and belongs to the Catholic Church.

Professional Career

Hearn was an exceptional pitcher during his initial two seasons with the Giants, impressing everyone from Manager Leo Durocher and his club members alike with his speed and curveball.

Hearn was an invaluable asset during their NL pennant drive, winning 12 games. Furthermore, Hearn proved reliable as both relief pitcher and occasional starter.

Hearn has over two decades of experience as a real estate agent, representing clients in the sale of condominiums, townhouses, single family homes, development sites and commercial properties. Known for his work ethic, upfront honesty and keen attention to detail; Hearn stands out in the industry by prioritizing client satisfaction.

Achievement and Honors

Hearn earned high school All-America recognition in both football and basketball during his high school career, serving as four-time Academic All-American and winning Tennessee Mr. Basketball award 2021. Additionally, Hearn was honored by being selected to Associated Press’ first-team All-America squad.

At the operatic level, he is an emerging full lyric tenor who was recently recognized as one of 2022 Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition Grand Finalists. He has performed at several companies nationwide including Washington Concert Opera as The Duke of Mantua from Donizetti’s Roberto Devereux and Vashon Opera as The First Armored Man from Mozart’s Magic Flute.

At halftime of a Los Angeles Lakers game, this award was presented during halftime and accepted with great gratitude by Dr. Chick Hearn Memorial Scholarship to USC Annenberg.

In 2021, he joined Utah Opera as an apprentice artist and performed three roles: Peter Gray from Joseph Horovitz’s Gentleman’s Island; Angus Munn Cannon in Margot Murdoch and Kathleen Cahill’s The Better Man; and Remendado from Bizet’s Carmen as part of their apprentice showcase program.

Hearn was also known for his journalistic writings published in the Cincinnati Commercial. His writings about New Orleans during his decade-long stay are particularly renowned. Additionally, Hearn was an experienced scuba diver and hunter; a member of East Dulverton hunt.
