Daniel Colwell was born and raised in Americus, Georgia to hardworking parents. As a high school football star with both college and NFL scouts interested in recruiting him.

He is currently studying his second year at Bethel College after graduating Newton High School in 2021. Beginning piano studies at age 5, and later Suzuki violin tuition with BCAPA since 2010, he has won both Hutchinson Symphony Anderson Concerto Competition and NMKSO Dwight Beckham Young Soloists competitions.

He possesses a great passion for learning and strives to comprehend others more deeply. His extraordinary charisma makes anyone around him feel instantly at ease; furthermore, his laughter brings much-needed light in even the darkest situations.

Professional Career

Dan joined Pitcher Partners in 2016. His audit expertise extends across multiple industries and his work is underpinned by commercial insights that add value, reduce risk and help entities reach their goals.

He began his career at Tandemloc as an industrial technician, quickly progressing through operational shop to engineering department. Through the company’s tuition reimbursement program he earned two associate degrees: machine tool technology; die and mold making technology and computer integrated machining technology.

He takes great pleasure in building lasting relationships with individuals, offering genuine interest and professional care as he works alongside them. In his free time he enjoys helping with the youth group at Cirencester Baptist Church as well as walking his wife Rachel and daughters Martha and Florence.

Daniel Colwell has an impressive resume of academic and professional achievements to his credit, including being honored with multiple awards and honorary degrees from prominent institutions. Furthermore, he has served on advisory boards for government agencies, private foundations and international scientific organizations.

He is passionate about education and outreach. To do so, he implemented service learning into the senior design course in Civil Engineering department allowing students to collaborate with Engineers Without Borders Ecuador and Panama on real world design projects.

In 2009, he received the Arch T. Colwell Medal for Excellence in Mobility Engineering – presented annually at Society of Automotive Engineers meetings to authors who present exceptional papers – for outstanding papers presented. Furthermore, he actively serves on several SAE technical committees.

Personal Life

Dan is married to Rachel and has two children. In his free time he enjoys helping out at his local church in Cirencester’s youth group and walking or fostering ex-batttery hens. Additionally he is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

At Carnegie Mellon’s School of Music, he assisted in making it more democratic and transparent by streamlining operations and making changes that enhanced education quality and performance at the school.

Daniel Colwell spent much of his free time playing trumpet and singing with Pittsburgh’s River City Brass Band, performing concerts across the US as well as Australia and Ireland.
