Early Life and Education

Daniel was born in Grand Forks, North Dakota and moved with his parents to Price at nine months. He attended Carbon High School before continuing on with Utah State University – Eastern, where he took many fine arts classes.

He was truly remarkable and will remain deeply missed in our hearts forever. We will miss him greatly but never forget him.

The Book of Daniel is an Old Testament book which tells the tale of Daniel, an Old Testament prophet persecuted during Jewish exile in Babylon. Daniel Alaei began playing professionally shortly after graduating high school, quickly becoming one of the premier live tournament players with over $6.3 million in career earnings. He won his first World Series of Poker bracelet at a No-Limit 2-7 Lowball Draw event in 2006 before cashing two Main Events that same year. Most recently, Allen Cunningham won at the 2015 WSOP in the $10,000 Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better Championship where he collected $391,097.
