What is Cleavage?
Cleavage is a fundamental process of cellular development that results in the formation of a cluster of cells the size of the original ZYGOTE. These cells are called blastomeres. The cells in this cluster are assembled into a compact mass called the theblastula. The embryo is finished when it has attained a new balance between its nucleus and cytoplasm. There are many types of cleavage.
Transgranular cleavage is the first type of cleavage. It is distinguished by the brittle crack that occurs when multiple crystallographic planes are broken at the same angle. The cleavage angles are influenced by the atomic density of the materials. In some materials, the cleavage angle is greater than the normal stress of the crystallographic planes, and these are called perfect cleavages.
Another type of cleavage is hinge cleavages. This type of cleavage occurs at an angle and is possible due to hydraulic fracturing. This particular process uses less energy than fracturing that occurs parallel to the maximum compressive stress. To create a hinge-cleavage, the differential strain value must be lower that the difference in tensional strength paralleling the cleavage. In such a case, the pressure required to fracture the rock is also too low, and the cleavage develops.
The cleavage, in fashion, is the space between the breasts of a woman. The word itself is a form of cleaving. However, this term is more than a fashion trend. It’s also a symbol of political movements. Cleavage is often a defining characteristic of Victoria’s Secret models. If a woman has an under-boob cleavage, she is a creative and unconventional thinker, and she will most likely be a competitive person.

If the cleavage is too shallow, the stone will break and leave rough surfaces behind. Glass can easily break or split, unlike diamonds which are known for their perfect cleavage. Gem cutters can use crystallographic axes in order to determine which cleavage cut is easiest or most difficult.
