The Antetokounmpo Family

The Antetokounmpo family consists of five basketball players – two of them are currently associated with the National Basketball Association. Francis is a semi-professional basketball and professional soccer player. His athleticism and musical talent are impressive. In fact, he’s explored more genres than any of his brothers. And that’s one of the reasons why he’s become a popular sports personality.

Giannis Antetokounmpo, 19, joined the Milwaukee Bucks in the offseason. He and his family have not yet seen him in a Milwaukee Bucks uniform. Despite that, the family made the long trek to Wisconsin to catch a Bucks game. The Bucks were hosting New York Knicks and the Antetokounmpo Family was able to see their son in action.

Giannis Antetokounmpo’s parents are Nigerian. They had immigrated to Greece in 1992 from Nigeria, and Giannis Antetokounmpo was born in Greece. But before he was famous, they had no legal documents. As a result, the Antetokounmpo family had to make ends meet by selling things in the streets. Giannis Antetokounmpo’s mother was from Nigeria, and his father was from Greece.

The Antetokounmpo story is fascinating and inspiring. Many NBA players were inspired by their journey to become legal citizens of Greece and play at the highest level of basketball. Kostas Antetokounmpo was born in Dominican Republic and moved to the United States with his brothers. After playing basketball in the Dominican Republic for four years, he was drafted in the 2014 NBA Draft by the Philadelphia 76ers. Antetokounmpo signed with the Milwaukee Bucks after his first season in the NBA. He currently plays for the ASVEL Basket, French Betclic Elite.

His brother Alex is also part of the Antetokounmpo clan. The brothers, Giannis and Thanasis, grew up in Greece. Their story is inspiring, as they not only played basketball for the NBA but also kept in touch with their family and hometown. They’re raising a family and a son together. Rise is their Disney+ movie. The Antetokounmpo brothers have become the stars.

The Antetokounmpo family is a source of inspiration to anyone who has ever struggled with poverty. Giannis was able to succeed because of their faith and perseverance.
