Alphonso Oliver is survived by his wife, two sons, three sisters and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Alphonso Oliver of Southeast Washington DC was arrested today for murder charges related to the shooting death of 16-year-old Levoire Simmons at Kenilworth Terrace Northeast early Sunday morning. Police believe Oliver shot and killed Simmons.

Early Life and Education

Oliver developed an indefatigable work ethic. His mother, Norah Grennell, worked on plantations in Ballards Content Clarendon as a sugar cane cutter but always made sure her children received an outstanding education.

At Denbigh High School, he became an executive member of the Student Council and graduated with top honors in auto mechanics. Later he went to work for a cable and wireless company in Jamaica and eventually advanced to supervisor.

Jamie Oliver has used his television work to spread healthy cuisine throughout schools. Documentaries like Jamie’s Kitchen and Jamie’s Australia document his efforts in training disadvantaged youth in culinary arts while encouraging healthier menu choices, while series such as American Road Trip and Jamie’s Family Christmas address similar topics.

Professional Career

Oliver Meiseberg is a veteran business executive and international trade expert with experience across industries like medical devices, publishing, computer peripherals and oil and gas. As the Director of Maine International Trade Center he received recognition from FDI Magazine, U.S. Department of Commerce as well as Germany’s Bundesverdienstkreuz Award for his efforts.

Vice President of Renderman at Pixar Animation Studios, where he leads a team in developing its rendering software which brings every pixel alive on screen. He has worked on many Pixar films including Up, Inside Out and WALL*E and has his Ph.D in Civil and Environmental Engineering from University of California Davis.

Achievement and Honors

In 2013 Oliver cowrote and directed Gravity, an award-winning sci-fi thriller starring George Clooney and Sandra Bullock which garnered him numerous honors and awards.

Alphonso Oliver has worked tirelessly in order to reach where he is today. His mother always encouraged him to work hard and make an honest living for himself while furthering his education; she would frequently sell personal items in order to raise money so Alphonso could attend college and enroll in additional auto mechanic courses.

Denbigh High School awarded him with their top achiever award for auto mechanics. Later he pursued a bachelor’s degree at University of Technology Jamaica and has received various honors and awards since.

Personal Life

Alphonso Oliver is a proud father to four kids. The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air actor shares three with Angela and one daughter from ex-partner Robin Stapler; often sharing adorable family pics online! Alphonso co-hosts Dancing With the Stars as well; his son AJ often shows up to join in.
